Clinical Neuropsychological Assessment

Neuropsychological testing is invaluable for the differential diagnosis of psychiatric and neurological illness, as well as the characterization of cognitive and behavioral strengths and weaknesses. We provide comprehensive assessment of memory and other cognitive domains, and provide treatment and lifestyle recommendations. Common reasons for referrals include suspected neurologic  disorders (e.g., dementia, traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors), psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety), and neurocognitive impairment resulting from medical conditions.

Psychoeducational Assessment

Neurodevelopmental conditions such as learning disability and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder adversely impact school performance and emotional well-being. When weaknesses are identified via psychoeducational testing, appropriate accommodations at school can be initiated to further ensure academic success. For example, testing can help determine if academic struggles are due to a learning disability, ADHD, emotional factors or other factors. We see individuals aged 16 and up.

Psychodiagnostic Assessment

Psychological testing is helpful for clarifying underlying psychiatric disorders in order to direct patients towards appropriate treatment providers. Such evaluations are also helpful in the context of disability, fitness for duty, capacity/competency, and other situations.

Medico-Legal Evaluations

Medico-legal and forensic evaluations are specifically designed to address legal questions in context of civil or criminal cases. In addition to a comprehensive battery of tests, these evaluations typically require review of considerable records and collateral information to integrate with test data. Evaluation services include consulting with attorneys and/or other referral sources.
